jBASE has a series of RDBMS integration solutions ensuring that valuable corporate data can be made available as and when required.
One of the original design concepts that has really delivered for jBASE is the core jEDI functionality. An integral part of every jBASE system, the default jEDI provides access to standard MultiValue hashed files. With this unique technology either selective files or all files can become RDBMS tables.
The supported RDBMS systems are Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, Oracle or any other system supporting ODBC. Major end users can match a corporate requirement for RDBMS compliance while still benefitting from hundreds of hours of development of tailored applications written in BASIC. VARs, on the other hand, can deliver applications to markets demanding RDBMS databases to capitalize on their investment and expand their business.
Recognizing the fact that many companies today have chosen Microsoft’s SQL Server database as their Business Intelligence (BI) platform of choice, jBASE needed to provide an efficient method to extract data from jBASE and deliver in to SQL Server tables. mv.SSIS is the product to match this requirement completely. With a small amount of work to isolate and configure the jBASE files for extraction the work passes to the SQL Server DBA to build the SSIS project and deploy in to production. Data can be efficiently extracted when required and all with the minimum of effort.
Often overlooked, ODBC can be used as an efficient solution for the extraction of data from jBASE to any other system supporting a compatible ODBC. jBASE 5 supports a new and highly efficient ODBC capable of delivering for the user with perhaps less demanding of ad-hoc requirements for RDBMS integration.
