What
is Print Manager and what does it do?
OSMOSiS Print Manager is a comprehensive
GUI representative of the MultiValue spooler which looks similar
to the Windows spooler. As this is MultiValue specific, it
requires program(s) running on the server and a telnet session
to the server is initiated to start these programs, which are
used to interface with the MultiValue Spooler.

Incorporating
this tool into the user’s site will simplify the process of
controlling the print spooler. OSMOSiS Print Manager can be
used completely unbound from OSMOSiS as it simply connects
to an account already setup on the Server and uses a couple
of non-OSMOSiS specific routines. |

How does
Print
Manager work?
-
The spooler entries for the selected
printer can be manipulated by stopping, deleting and even
transferring prints from one printer to another
-
Once a printer is selected, a list of
all the print jobs for that printer is displayed in a grid on
the right-hand-side
-
Unlike the Windows spooler, the OSMOSiS
Print Manager can multi-select a list of jobs and view the
actual contents of each print job
-
Another unique function is the ability
to move jobs from one printer to another
-
Each print job can be viewed, deleted,
put on hold and stopped

The User treats OSMOSiS Print Manager as
he would the Windows Print Manager with no need to use or even
know about the MultiValue Spooler commands. To add a new printer simply
click the “Add Printer” icon in the left margin and a GUI window
will pop-up asking for the relevant parameters in an
easy-to-understand language. To delete a job, just highlight the
job in the right hand grid and click the Delete Job icon in the
“Job Tasks” window in the left column.
