KEY FEATURES
Leverages Reporting Services Functionality
RSDC’s separation of data acquisition, report processing and result
publishing processes allows an organization to implement a reporting
strategy which is fine-tuned to their particular requirements and IT
esoterics. The flexibility of report publishing formats combined
with the ease of report authoring and end-user customization
provides for a genuine real-time data reporting experience for
both IT literate and IT novice members of staff.
Full integration with the SSRS Report
Designer Leverage the full feature set of Report Designer
& Report Builder in the manipulation, format and display of
MultiValue data in a wide variety of end-user focused reporting
layouts.
Multiple normalization Techniques
Drill-down enabled data normalization, allowing the full drill down
functionality of Reporting Services to be used against MultiValue
data.
High performance data retrieval
Fast data retrieval using the mv.NET ADO.NET managed data provider,
along with wizard driven query creation within the SSRS report
designer.
Seamless integration with SSRS
Allows MultiValue developers and end users to leverage the
capabilities of their existing information systems and connect to
custom data sources, produce additional output formats and deliver
to a variety of computing devices.
SQL-style query syntax support
By providing SQL command syntax support to generate queries non-MultiValue
aware developers can author reports that eventually draw their data
content from MultiValue databases.
Available for all major MultiValue
databases Because RSDC utilizes the mv.NET product
available from jBASE to access MultiValue databases, all of the
major MultiValue databases are made available to SSRS.

Reporting Services Data Connector
Enabling
MultiValue developers to utilize the latest Microsoft Reporting Services
technology
Microsoft has
invested millions of dollars in the creation of the Reporting Services
infrastructure in SQL Server 2005 to provide a scalable, easy to use
reporting solution which integrates tightly with their development toolsets.
Now, using the new Reporting Services Data Connector product available from
jBASE International, MultiValue users on all platforms have a gateway
into this world class technology.
Microsoft
SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a comprehensive, server-based
reporting solution that can author, manage, and deliver both paper-oriented
and interactive, Web–based reports and services. SSRS supports a wide range
of common data sources such as SQL Server and Oracle, as well as multiple
output formats such as familiar Web browsers and Microsoft Office System
applications. It is flexible enough to be used in small business right
through to large enterprises, and installs onto any Windows-based server
able to support the .NET Framework.
Reporting
Services Data Connector (RSDC) exploits the full feature set of SSRS and
allows it to be used against all of the major MultiValue database platforms
with almost no extra work on behalf of the application developer!
The SSRS
architecture allows third party developers to integrate with its data
acquisition components to facilitate report production based on a wide range
of back-end datasources. By
integrating with the low level data provider interface of the SSRS product,
RSDC allows MultiValue databases to supply data at SSRS's data acquisition
phase. This approach has the advantage of allowing the full feature set of
the SSRS Report Designer and Report Builder to be leveraged in the
manipulation, format and display of the MultiValue data.
RSDC also has the advantage of leveraging the
full power of the standard MultiValue dictionary layer with minimal work
being required prior to data being made available to the Reporting Services
infrastructure.
RSDC makes use of the high performance
Adapter Objects (ADO.NET) functionality provided by
mv.NET to provide the
underlying connectivity to the MultiValue database - from there onwards SSRS
takes over to provide the complete reporting package.
RSDC offers the most sophisticated, performant and cost effective solution
for any developer wishing to take advantage of Microsoft's Reporting
Services product. With Reporting Services, MultiValue databases can now be
used to provide sophisticated, real-time report data using a wide variety of
delivery mediums and incorporating all of the reporting features expected by
today's demanding report consumer.
