After battling weekly downtime with their D3 system for years, UW Provision has successfully migrated to jBASE from Zumasys. jBASE’s modern native architecture, delivers the highest performance and scalability of any database on the market and it is ideal for PICK MultiValue applications that need to be modernized.
Working together with the IT team at UW Provision, Zumasys migrated the company to a new Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) running VMware virtualization, Red Hat Linux and jBASE v5.7.
“I can say that we have absolutely noticed an improvement in stability, I no longer have to spend hours each Saturday rebooting D3 and everything it touched,” said Matthew Williams, IT Manager for UW Provision Company, Inc.
Known as The Meat People, UW Provision is a family-run business that specializes in the manufacture and distribution of fresh and frozen beef and seafood products. UW Provision has been in business for 60 years and is based in Middleton, Wisconsin.

Zumasys’ own Becky Cravens-Wait and Josh Camacho were recently onsite at UW Provision discussing the next phase of their project, which entails some significant enhancements to the company’s existing application.
